My W at 2.5 Years - An update

I realized I haven’t updated on W in awhile (or if I did, it was buried in another post and I can’t find it).  In the past couple months, he’s learned so much.  He’s a little sponge these days.

At 2.5 years old, W:
  •   LOVES trucks.
  •  Sings songs and recites nursery rhymes all the live long day.  There are too many to list, but a few that come to mind are: One, Two Buckle my Shoe, Hickory Dickory Dock, ABCs, Bingo, Wheels on the Bus.
  • Counts to 15 and recognizes numbers 1-10 by sight (though he confuses 1 and 7 every now and then).
  • Knows shapes including pentagon, diamond, and clover (thanks to his shapes puzzles).
  • LOVES to help.
  • Watches Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Super Why.
  • Recognizes all capital letters and a few lower case.
  • Is obsessed with the song Geronimo by Sheppard.  OBSESSED.  He asks to listen to it at least once a day.
  • Knows all colors (but often calls gray black).
  • LOVES to play outside.
  • Talks about poop often.  For example, “W pooped like birdie pooped on Grandma’s car!” (I’m assuming this is a boy thing??).
  • Is still mommy’s boy.
  • Asks me to sing the bear song often – which is actually not a song, but Fuzzy Wuzzy… and then he tells me “that bear naked”.
  • Tells A, “Happy Birthday, Daddy” and “Happy Father’s Day, Daddy” nearly every day. This NEVER gets old and I’ll be sad when he no longer says it (and so will A).
  • Naps inconsistently.
  • LOVES to be read to (we have an impressive book collection, but Pete the Cat books and Walter the Farting Dog books are read on a daily basis).
  • Eats nothing.  Every day is a struggle in this department.  Breakfast usually goes well and W will eat bagels with cream cheese, yogurt, puree pouch, waffle, bacon, and/or sausage.  Lunch and dinner are anyone’s guess.
  • Does not like sweets, except for the occasional gummy bear or popsicle.
  • Asks to be picked up 5296 times per day.
  • Sleeps with 4 blankies (because why have just 1 when you can have 4??).
  • Dances in circles.
  • Has started to show his imagination… “Dee dee texting Nani.” (Dee dee is our dog)  “That doggie a robot.”
  • Talks about himself in the third person, but has just started using “me” on occasion.
  • Still wakes up at night (nearly every night) and comes to our room.
  • Prefers to be around adults or older kids.
  • Still gets asked about his red hair often.
  • Is the light of my life. :)
